Key condition for the success of electrostatic powder coating: surface preparation
Surface preparation is the most important step since it is a crucial factor that determines the uniformity and durability of the coating after its application. The preparation of the piece can be done in two ways:
- Regular sanding
- Oxyblast (aluminum oxide sandblasting)
- Shotblasting or glass blasting
The mechanical operation chosen will ensure the bare metal is ready to receive the powder.
To ensure the quality of the final result, a pre-treatment by chemical soaking is then carried out in 5 phases using zinc phosphate.
