What is electrostatic powder coating?
Also called powder coating, it is a painting process used for coating metal parts of all kinds. It is a thermosetting coating, which therefore solidifies with heat.
Its application is carried out most often with a spray gun. You first apply a thin layer of powder paint – of various colors, finishes, and textures – and then you bake the piece in a specialized oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The result is a durable and resistant coating.

Hybrid Epoxy Polyester Powder Coating
An interesting compromise for ultraviolet (U), harsh climatic conditions and corrosion resistance.
Polyester Powder Coating
The main properties of this type of powder coating are its resistance and flexibility. Its high resistance to ultraviolet rays reduces the risk of discoloration due to sunlight and its durability under various climatic conditions makes it suitable for outdoor use on fences, outdoor furniture and agricultural equipment, among others. It’s a great choice for indoors and outdoors.

Key condition for the success of electrostatic powder coating: surface preparation
Surface preparation is the most important step since it is a crucial factor that determines the uniformity and durability of the coating after its application. The preparation of the piece can be done in two ways:
Mechanical preparation
- Regular sanding
- Oxyblast (aluminum oxide sandblasting)
- Shotblasting or glass blasting
The mechanical operation chosen will ensure the bare metal is ready to receive the powder.
Chemical preparation
To ensure the quality of the final result, a pre-treatment by chemical soaking is then carried out in 5 phases using zinc phosphate.
